what is bikeswiper?
cyclists living in NYC on a mission to help reduce bicycle theft.
what's the purpose of our site?
to teach people how to properly lock up their bikes and get a quick laugh while they are at it :)
what will we do?
when we spot a bike not properly locked up, we leave a tag tied on that either says "sucker" or "we'd kiss ya" w/ our handy dandy bike graphics. then it gets a photograph on our site w/ a rant or rave. we will take submissions other bikers and pedestrians.
how does this work?
once on our blog, the bike either gets a rave review:
or a rant of a review:
can other people join the fun?
that is the other big idea. ask us for the tags and/or if you get one, reuse the tag to help others from making the same mistake(s) you made. once we get our tags printed, send us an email and we will send you tags so you can help the mission.
so what can you do in the meantime?
swipe some photos on the street and email them to us. be sure to include your desired swiper name. oh yah, be sure to join our gang below.
